Topi is the internet’s newest Corgi Celebrity. If you’re a corgi fanatic, chances are you’ve come across Topi’s adorable antics through his “pawpular” videos. I’m beyond excited to feature Topi here on our blog, and am admittedly a little starstruck (ok, I lied, I’m VERY SUPER DUPER STARSTRUCK AHHHH)! *insert lots of heart eyes here*
Huge thanks to Topi for being a part of our Furside Chat Series, and more thanks to his pawrents for typing out Topi’s answers on the computer for him. 😉
Let’s get started!
You can follow Topi’s Adventures on Facebook and Instagram!
Hi Topi! Thanks so much for letting us interview you for our Furside Chat series! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your furmily?

Hi everypawdy! My name is Topi and I’m a soon-to-be 3 year old (May 27th) male corgi from Finland. Finland is quite a small country located in Northern Europe with a population of around 5.5 million. I was the only puppy left that didn’t yet have a home when my pawrents came to see me when I was 5 weeks old. My pawrents fell in love with me immediately! I have one sister and five brothers but only two of us have tails… and I’m the other. In Finland docking tails is illegal so most of us corgis have tails over here. My corgmom has a natural bob-tail and my corgdad has a tail and this was the outcome!
My family includes mommy, daddy and me! My mom and dad are an engaged couple in their early twenties and i’m the spoiled child 😉

You are a GREAT actor and comedian in your videos! Did you attend puppy acting school? What was your doggie training like?
Thanks for the compliment! My acting skills are based on watching hours and hours of Hollywood movies and trying to replicate the expressions of the actors. My favorite actors are Hachiko, Beethoven and Johnny Depp. My acting career started last summer and I try to develop myself further in every video that I make.

You are so famous now, Topi! How are you dealing with the new fame? Do you receive a lot of fan mail and have admirers around the world?
I’m overwhelmed by the number of my fans that I have around the world! It still doesn’t show in my daily life which means i’m not being recognized on the streets 😉 I do get lots of messages through my social media accounts but unfortunately I don’t have my own postal address yet – hopefully in the future I will! Most of my fans are from the United States and Asia. It’s great to be an international doggie!

I love the Valentine’s Day video featuring your girlfriend! Can you tell us a little bit about her? 😉
The lovely girl featured in my Valentine’s Day video is named Takku. Her pawrents contacted my folks on my Facebook page when they didn’t have a corgi of their own yet. They loved my pawrent’s story of how they fell in love with corgis and how they eventually got me. That story encouraged them to get Takku! When they finally got Takku, we had to meet up and we’ve been in love ever since. Takku is 9 months younger than I am. She has a great personality but even greater looks!

Who is on the production crew behind your video shoots? It is just you and your mom?
My production crew consists of my mom and dad. We sit down together to ponder the subject to my next video and write the script. They hold the camera and select the music for my videos but I do all the hard work!

What’s your favorite thing about filming videos? How long do they usually take to film? Are there a lot of bloopers?
My favorite thing about filming videos is the treats. Usually I get turkey treats after every take and as an overtime compensation I get dried pig’s ears! Filming progress may take anything from three hours to ten hours plus editing so the videos do take time and effort to create. Every scene has to be taken multiple times to make sure the quality is perfect! There are lots of bloopers mostly because my pawrents can’t stop laughing *sigh*! I’ve been planning to make bloopers videos in the future.

Which one of your videos are your favorites so far?
I don’t have absolute favorite videos although the camping video was fun to make because I got to eat sausage. Also I love swimming and chasing balls so I enjoyed the making of my swimming video. Every video has its own pros.
– – – –
What are some of Topi’s favorite (and least favorite) things?
I love to play hide and seek with my pawrents, chasing balls, pulling a rope, and just going crazy in general. It’s great to live in Finland because it snows here during the wintertime – and oh boy how much I love to roll in it! I pretty much eat everything that I get in front of me except if it’s too healthy! For example I don’t eat bananas at all. Also I don’t really like the weekly pedicure even though it’s important to have posh paws!

What exciting new things can we look forward to in the future? Are there any awesome projects coming up?
I have lots of video ideas for the upcoming summer! I’ve been filming inside the house a lot because of the gloomy weather but soon the sun and warm weather comes back and brings the nature back to live. Then I can film outdoors and get different perspective to videos. I’ve also been planning to make a video about the attractions of Finland’s capital Helsinki.

Any last words for your readers, followers, and fans?
I want to thank each and everyone for the support and lovely comments. I hope you’ll stay tuned for my upcoming adventures! Remember to keep thinking positive and your life will be positive too!

Thank you for a wonderful interview! Topi makes my day! Love him! Thank you to his Mom & Dad, too, for raising such a sweet boy!❤️
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE you videos and pictures!! I am from Hannibal Missouri U.S.A. It is a popular tourist town known for being about Mark Twain and his book with the characters Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher. It is right by the Mississippi River and from where I live the river is only a couple of blocks away. We have the Mark Twain caves and a really fun 4th of July celebration call Tom Sawyers day where there is frog jumping contests and white washing fence contests and a parade and a carnival and lots of crafts and fun stuff to do. There is a pet show also and alot more. We have a Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher person contest and a winner is picked for each and they represent Hannibal for one year. We have a Mark Twain impersonater that goes around town and you can take pictures with them during the summer. The whole down town is dedicated to Mark Twain and there is a river boat that docks in the harbor that give out rides and has really nice dinner cruises during the spring and summer months. I went on it for my wedding anniversary one time. It was awesome they had a jazz band playing real live music and wonderful food and the boat cruise was awesome too. What is it like where you live?? I love Topi and look forward to his wonderful funny videos!! You are so wonderful to post him and share his cuteness with the world!! I am soo happy to see his precious face.He makes my day!! THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!!
